Direct joining can be used as a replacement for the conventional caulking method employed in the sealing section of cylindrical lithium-ion battery electrodes (the joining area between the metal and insulating resin, i.e., the sealing plate).
In this process, an aluminum flange, an insulating resin spacer, and an aluminum lid plate are joined together in a sandwich structure.
Compared with conventional manufacturing methods, this technology enables the production of sealing components with superior airtightness and durability.
The key to ALTIM® joining technology lies in its proprietary laser processing of metal surfaces.
This creates a textured surface structure that enhances both the anchor effect and wettability on the metal surface.
In addition, the thermal compression joining process is precisely controlled while continuously monitoring temperature and pressure.
This unique expertise enables the production of sealing components with outstanding strength, durability, and airtightness.
